-LOOKS-
Appearance (100 character minimum): Being a Metamorphmagus, Terezi has the ability to change a lot of things about her appearance at will. Some things about her appearance are minorly changed without her say so, depending on her feelings, and this is largely thanks to the fact that she is blind, and her mind will always act at least partially on feelings. When will my refection show who I am inside? Another part of these minor changes are the fact that she wants to be what other people want her to be, or at least to live up to people's expectations. That being said, she generally sticks to one of two different basic appearances, although even some aspects of these can change, whether it be that she is just experimenting, or that she goes through a large change in her life (this has happened three times). The first of her two general appearances, and the one she tends to be seen modeling more often, is also the somewhat darker appearance, although in a more literal sense than figurative. While the
The second of her two usual appearances is much brighter, but also much less frequently modeled. She is much more fair-skinned, to the point that, in the right lighting, she can seemingly glow, and this pale skin is sprinkled with freckles. I am so pale I glow in the moonlight, please tell me I'm not the only one. She generally has the milky white eyes (although she sometimes modifies these, see previous paragraph) that most people imagine when they picture a blind person. Her hair is, while still considered
Some features that both appearances share are the fact that she generally keeps a small nose, minus when she is messing around with her friends/her sister. She can be described as incredibly

-ABOUT-
Personality (200 character minimum): Terezi is extremely intelligent, and has been since she was a small child, always seeming a bit advanced for her age. This fact can be accredited to her incredible observation skills. Even after she went blind, she was supremely perceptive, often noticing things her seeing friends didn't. She has told herself that this is actually thanks to her being blind, as she doesn't focus on the things she sees, and can allow herself to focus on feelings, smells, sounds, and even tastes in her environment that other people might filter out.Though many people know of her intelligence, she doesn't use it in the ways everyone expects her to. It is true that she makes good grades, but she often times uses her fast-working mind and observational skills to come up with clever retorts to any insults thrown at her. This is usually not a difficult feat, though, as most insults toward her are about her family members (namely the dead one), and/or her blindness. Despite her constantly insulting people back, she is generally upset by the insults, because her family is extremely important to her, and she doesn't enjoy thinking about her dead father.
Aside from using her talents to come up with amazing come backs, she also uses them to find out how to make people uncomfortable. She usually exploits this, and her favorite ways to do this are being incredibly flirtatious and making tons of physical contact. Having grown up with Latula, raised by Nadiya, and owning eight dogs5, she doesn't have any sense of personal space.
Generally, Terezi will have made up her mind about a person when she first meets them. If she doesn't immediately like you, there is little to no chance of her wanting to continue spending time with you under any circumstances. To the contrary, if you dislike her when the two of you first meet, and she likes you, you're shit out of luck, my friend. Referring to the previous character trait, she is actually more likely to attempt to make her friends uncomfortable than she is the people she dislikes. With her friends, she will often be incredibly flirty, and try to make them as uncomfortable as possible. This is not to say she can't have a calm discussion, or even discuss feelings, this is just her general behavior. On the flip side of this, when she dislikes a person, she generally is really quiet and polite around them.
Usually, you will find Terezi in a good mood, with a Cheshire cat grin on her face and bright red ends on her hair. However, don't let this fool you. Terezi has fallen into the trap of self-deprecation, constantly believing that she is not good enough. While she is very independent, and will never admit it, she needs other people's constant approval.
Terezi is stubborn and contradictory. This has been shown many times throughout her life. For example, she was fully prepared to not take Divination, until a small handful of students said she wouldn't be able to due to her blindness. Despite the fact that she is blind, she has proven many times that she is the best seer in the class, and could perhaps be called better at divination than even the professor.
Background (Why Hogwarts? Childhood? Any connections to other characters?): Terezi was born in late September to Mstislav and Nadiya Pyrope in Chita, Russia, making her their second child. Her parents were both very supportive of Latula and her, and told them at a very young age that they were witches. Terezi started showing magical capabilities rather early on, though didn't seem to start grasping control of her magic until after she went blind. Another thing evidenced very early on to her parents was the fact that she was a Metamorphmagus, as she would constantly change appearance, sometimes up to five or six times a day when she was really bored, or when she was just playing with Vriska or her sister.
Terezi's vision began to worsen when she stared at a solar eclipse at the age of three, but she didn't go completely blind until an accident involving Vriska and Dark Magic that they were too young to understand when they were four. After hearing the spell from her mother, Vriska repeated it without knowing what it did. She thought it was something harmless, but it sort of backfired. Though there wasn't much damage done to the young Serket, that signed the deal on Terezi's vision.
In another, completely separate accident involving a small handful of muggles and three cars, her dad died when she was seven years old. She spent a long time blaming herself, and it was this accident that mainly led her to try to both be what other people wanted her to be/what they expected of her, and maintain a level of independence. Her dad's untimely death also led her to have slight abandonment issues with varying levels of severity throughout her life. At the age of sixteen, they've mostly calmed down, though they were at their worst when she first got to Hogwarts at the age of twelve, and didn't calm down really until her second year, when she actually started making friends at the school.
If someone were to ask her the question, "Why Hogwarts?" she would respond with a number of reasons. The main reason is the fact that it reminds her of her dad, who also went to Hogwarts despite growing up in Russia, but the first thing she tells people she's not incredibly close to is the motto.
Quirks & Et cetera (Anything else you would like to add?): 1 Cecilia is a Latinate feminine form of the Roman family name Caecilius, which was derived from Latin caecus "blind". Saint Cecilia was a semi-legendary 2nd or 3rd-century martyr who was sentenced to die because she refused to worship the Roman gods. After attempts to suffocate her failed, she was beheaded. She was later regarded as the patron saint of music and musicians.
Due to the popularity of the saint, the name became common in Christian usage during the Middle Ages. The Normans brought it to England, where it was commonly spelled Cecily.
2 Terezi is 16, but she is only in the Fifth year because of her birthday, September 28th. She was not eleven before the first day of school unless you guys are going with something other than September 1st, that's cool too, so she didn't start until she was twelve.
3 "Dogwood is one of my own personal favourites, and I have found that matching a dogwood wand with its ideal owner is always entertaining. Dogwood wands are quirky and mischievous; they have playful natures and insist upon partners who can provide them with scope for excitement and fun. It would be quite wrong, however, to deduce from this that dogwood wands are not capable of serious magic when called upon to do so; they have been known to perform outstanding spells under difficult conditions, and when paired with a suitably clever and ingenious witch or wizard, can produce dazzling enchantments. An interesting foible of many dogwood wands is that they refuse to perform non-verbal spells and they are often rather noisy." - Garrick Olivander
4 "As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental." - Garrick Ollivander
5 The eight dogs thing has always been a small headcanon of mine, as I use these and her paternal grandparents to represent her scalemates. Perhaps the only dog that would actually be brought up in roleplays would be Pyralspite, as during the summer, when she is at home, that is her seeing eye dog. Being Terezi, of course, they all have
Other than those five things, I guess I should include that she's afraid of storms? Although I suppose it's less "afraid of storms" and more "terrified of thunder". Because, you know, she is blind and has sensitive hearing and there is just sudden, random, really loud noises every once in a while.
