Appearance (100 character minimum): John stands at about five feet, two inches. His hair is black/dark brown and always messy, whether he wants it to be or not. His eyes are an ocean blue, and he has freckles going across his cheeks, nose, and shoulders. His skin is more olive (being half Korean), and his arms have some hidden muscle, though he is also still slightly chubby in the tummy area (which he insists is just baby fat waiting for his growth spurt which will come any day now). He's stronger than he looks, since he used to enjoy working with hammers (mostly for the fun of it).

Personality (200 character minimum): John Egbert is energetic and enthusiastic about many things. Some of those ‘things’ include flying, movies, various games, pranking, and making his deceased dad proud. He can come across as mean at times (even a douchebag), but overall he cares deeply for friends and tends to get along with others quickly and easily. There are other times when he can seem innocent, but don’t let that fool you! He’s probably trying to distract you from the bucket of pigs’ liver about to spill its contents all over you. Despite his sneakiness when it comes to pranks, John got into Gryffindor due to his kindness and bravery and leadership skills (though he insists that he is in no way a leader). He would do anything for his friends, and sometimes even his enemies. He can be a little gullible at times, but in the end he (almost) always learns his lesson. Fun Fact: John's patronus is a monkey.
Background (Why Hogwarts? Childhood? Any connections to other characters?):
John’s dad died on John’s eleventh birthday (not 13th since Hogwarts sends letters to students once they're 11), which was also the day John learned he was a wizard. In a freak accident involving Betty Crocker, shaving cream, and a literally runaway flame created by the young boy, John’s dad joined the dead. Due to a will left by his Dad (who wasn’t as human as John was led to believe), John attended Hogwarts, the school his dad had gone to. John spent most of his first year studying and working hard until he started to finally make friends. His mother is a sensitive subject for him, as she died a week before Christmas when John was eight, having been in a plane crash when rushing home in time for the holiday. John still to this day blames himself, even though he knows it wasn't his fault (unlike his dad's death, another thing he blames himself for). He is most comfortable with his cousins, Jake and Jade, and best friend Dave. He also tends to carry around a journal which he writes in from time to time.
