-LOOKS-
Appearance (100 character minimum):
Cronus is a slightly (skinnier than heathly) lean muscled seventh year at Hogwarts, with light greyish green eyes faded freckles and pale alabaster skin. His stature being around 5’9’’ tall, with a shorter torso and lengthy legs, he’s a perfect candidate for the Irish heritage his father bestowed upon him- say for he looks more like his dear old mother with his passionate eyes and expressive gestures. Not to mention the strawberry blonde hair he procured from the French line of his gene-pool. His face is thus far void of the iconic Cronus facial scarring- but do not fret dear readers, he’ll become the iconic dick-munch we all know very soon. Thin fingers but matriculate hands have worked on many a spell, you can often catch this wavy haired wizard dying his hair black in the Gryffindor common’s bathroom, or with his face dreamily staring out a window imagining impossible feats he’ll someday accomplish.

-ABOUT-
Personality (200 character minimum):
Cronus tends to put on show for most people not only in his class but those around him. Similar to a peacock he tends to use this tactic to impress his fellow students and peers- but normally due to performance issues, not only because of his wand type but because of stage fright, Cronus tends to make a fool of himself and has since been named class asshole on several occasions for his wise cracks and attention getting insults he spews occasionally at unlucky first or third years. He is the type of kid that can be your worst nightmare one moment and you’re highest scoring tester the next, despite his abilities he thinks truly lowly of himself and constantly pushes himself to learn more, albeit in secret to not feel like a complete obsessive nutcase. Cronus wants to be appreciated and recognized for his works, but because of his rejection and normalcy consisting of neglect- he tends to assume everyone hates him including his own brother. Even so, if you need someone to vouch for you or even yell for your side, this is the same man who would even pick a jest with the headmaster if needed to get what’s write done.
Cronus is a bully at times but he’s mostly bark and no bite- as he cowers away most of the time that he involves himself into things. His magic only blossoms when he’s alone or among those he trusts, which are far and few in between. Otherwise his insecure mind gets the better of him and his nerves go flying out the window of the Gryffindor tower.
Background (Why Hogwarts? Childhood? Any connections to other characters?):
Cronus was born in Anstruther, Scotland to Freyir and Marine Ampora in 1996 during a particularly nasty snow storm in January, during of which his mother and father were stranded in a snow bank having to waddle mid snow into the local hospital. Despite it being a stressful time, Cronus was born quite healthy and at a strapping 8 pounds, was bigger than his brother Eridan at birth.
During his earliest years, Cronus’s mother became pregnant once again with another boy, and shortly after his birth Marine became quite ill. Cronus’s only memory of his mother other than the short French lullabies he hummed with her, was her unexpected death when he was only three. He had been with her when she died, his father uncanny as it was, only two doors down the hall as she’d passed away changing the younger Ampora’s diaper. It still remains the only vivid memory of Cronus’s childhood to this day, despite his father saying that he wasn’t truly there in the room and was imagining it as a weird way to comfort his eldest son.
When Cronus was seven, Freyir moved to England in order to be closer to his work at Hogwarts; the two boys were moved in with a family friend who had a daughter the same age as Eridan. Despite it being more peaceful of an existence there than at their old house, Cronus still was intent on his bookish habits and more or less ignored the entirety of Eridan’s fond relationship with the young Peixes.
Most of his days prior to Hogwarts, Cronus spent his time learning magic from the many books his father left in their miniature library, as his father had become disintent on helping him along due to his insecure nature. Eridan on occasion would ask him for tips or spells to impress both his progress to their father and Feferi, to which Cronus at first gladly obliged. As time went on, Cronus slowly began to excel in his own abilities, but due to the down glared attitude of his father, rarely got credit for his work, and was expected to continue to be better than he already exhibited.
After an extremely emotional goodbye when Cronus was ten years old and leaving for Hogwarts, he promised jointly with his brother to send letters and small trinkets and helpful hints to his young sibling through the year. They both agreed; the first few months of school, the two wrote continuously almost every other three days or so to one another, with small presents or sometimes little doodles attached from Cronus to Eridan. As time progressed, and the year became more stressful for Cronus, some letters were forgotten to be sent, and even lost in the post…soon Cronus was void of any contact with his brother.
Though he was excited for his first year at the Wizarding academy, he was severely disappointed in his initial sorting house, and so much so that he even pleaded with the headmaster to be resorted…to which he was firmly denied. Due to never having friends as a child, Cronus’s people skills were not the best in the world, thus making him one of the strange children to meander the halls at odd hours looking for something to do and constantly getting himself into trouble with his horrible tendencies to show off in order to get attention.
After believing that his brother no longer wanted to speak with him (due to atrocious assumptions on his own part) Cronus decided to no longer bother his brother his brother with his presence upon his return to their Scotland home. The two grew fairly distant and formed a long line of distain and unfriendly greetings time after time of purposefully ignoring one another out of stubbornness and fear. As the second year of Cronus’s career at Hogwarts began, it was evident that his previous embarrassing reputation would soon inflict its harsh tendrils unto his younger sibling- to which Cronus’s response was to avoid the lad at all costs in order to keep him disassociated. In turn making the brothers grow even farther apart.
As years have went by and classes have been taken, not only has Cronus had to deal with the crippling loneliness he’s purposefully allowed himself into, but his social anxiety, depression, and constant insecurities created a monster of layers and walls he cowers behind most of his Wizarding career. His brutish bitter attitude and scornful insults take after his dear old dad’s sour ways, but in truth when caught in a lie or even asked to show off his supposed prodigal abilities the Ampora is quick to flee despite all his violent bluffing and tough guy act.
He has only ever tried to please others and in turn has since lost the path he once daydreamed about as a child. Proving himself to others is his ultimatum, but it normally costs him dearly because Cronus is a try hard worker who in all only ever wanted someone to appreciate him. Hopefully this year changes his luck.
Quirks & Et cetera (Anything else you would like to add?):
He is weirdly fascinated with animals and tends to find them good company (including those in the forbidden forest)- they do not judge him for his doings only who he is inside, he finds secret comfort in it.
He gets extremely flustered when other people flirt with or accept his own flirts, as his expectation is rejection or disbelief.
His father was a Slytherin at his time at Hogwarts.
Cronus tends to place on a idgaf attitude towards anyone and everyone.
He likes to come up with wordy insults to make himself seem not so much like a loser 24/7
He excels in all of his classes but is never really recognized for it because it was assumed others were tutoring him
Cronus loves his brother very much and used to sing to him when he was a child when he was scared, despite Freyir never doing that for Cronus as a child.
Cronus can see threstrals due to watching his mother die.
Cronus used to have a pet snake, but since it died during his second year he hasn't had the heart to replace her.
