-BASICS-
Character Name: Shivah Chandi Condelle Peixes
Professor or Student?: Professor
Age: 35
Year (Students only): N/A
Subject (Professors only): Potions
House: As a Student: Slytherin
Head of Hufflepuff
Wand Wood, Core, and Length: Willow, Unicorn and Mermaid Hair dual core, 13 inches
Position on the Quidditch Team (Optional): N/A
Pet (Optional): White Turkish Angora cat with green eyes named Nova (Along with other names, seems like she can't choose)
-LOOKS-
Appearance (100 character minimum): She stands at about 5'7" with a long black braided hair that reaches down to her ankles, which she then pins up to not get stepped on or get caught in anything. She keeps her hair tied up since she normally works with potions and kids and dislikes it coming in contact with any potential harm. She has a light brown complexion and dark purple-pink eyes as well as a rather fit built. She'd be considered pretty attractive by some, good genes and veela blood work hand in hand. While she is teaching she wears a long sleeve black skirt and long pants as well as an apron over it, no need to wear long robes that would just get in the way. Outside of class she'd most likely be found in muggle business casual clothing, slacks instead of pencil skirts though.

-ABOUT-
Personality (200 character minimum): Shivah is in short a very weird lady. She's able to be pretty lax when not working, even making nautical puns as she talks at times, but on the job she is pretty harsh and serious about what she does, especially as potions master. While she does see potions as a weird form of muggle cooking (Which is the closest comparison that can be made) she's rather not have to deal with sending injured kids to the hospital wing all the time. She has a fondness for class clowns mainly because they were always amusing in their antics and made for good examples when they end up in the Hospital wing after a bad potion, she can point to them and tell first years to not be like them or bad things happen (She probably finds people getting hurt funny tbh).
Background (Why Hogwarts? Childhood? Any connections to other characters?): Her mother was a veela and her father was a pure blood wizard from India already you can tell she had an interesting exposure to the magical world. For the first part of her childhood she lived in India along with her family and would regularly go over to the beach near her home and swim for long periods (causing her parents to worry to no end at times). When she was 10 they moved to England after her father died of a potions experiment gone horribly wrong.
When she was 11 she went to Hogwarts and there she met D Strider and it's been hate at first sight. Throughout the years they had a pretty intense rivalry, always attempting to one up each other, dueling often, and playing pranks that range from harmless to almost malicious in intent. Still they were both in the same house and year so they had to be careful not to end up getting in trouble and having points taken from Slytherin. By their last year in school together they were both head girl and boy of Slytherin, still even when she was older she didn't mellow out in the slightest. If there was a sentence that could define a younger her it would have to be "Fight me!"
After graduation she married a rich muggle man named Cornelius Sassacre (Or as she called him, Sassy.) for a little while but the relationship was cut short when he was the victim of a presumably accidental shooting while out duck hunting one day (There are some suspicions of fowl play being involved in this murder). While she did marry him for business like reasons she couldn't help but be a bit sad since she was fond of him as well, granted it honestly was more platonic then anything. She honestly didn't love him in a romantic sense, it was more of the union was beneficial and so she went along with it.
A little after that short relationship, she went to train at St. Mungo's and eventually became a Mediwizard (Mostly because the N.E.W.T classes she took were the prerequisite to becoming a healer and the other potential career paths didn't interest her much, well government did but with how halfbreds are generally treated she decided against attempting to go into that field.) and continued working there for a while before applying at Hogwarts for her current position, and thus becoming the potions master. It was a nice change of pace to teach potions then deal with people getting hurt by the most ridiculous things at times. She pities the poor soul who has to be nurse and deal with those children, especially the Quiditch players, god knows she has seen her fair share of Quidditch injuries. Nasty shit.
For Professors: Why is your character teaching the class they are?: Shivah applied for potions master because she's a great interest in potions ever since she was a student, going as far as to experiment a it outside of school when she felt like she could pull it off without trouble (Magic is banned outside of school yes but no one specifically said anything about potions). She's always had a passion for cooking and baking and potions was a similar art to both in her eyes so she instantly became interested and poured a lot of her attention towards potions when she could. Potions also is like a connection to her father too her, who died when she was still little and she hardly got to know him.
Quirks & Et cetera (Anything else you would like to add?): She loves the sea and water in general, as a child she use to live near the ocean before her family moved to the U.K. and would try to catch small fish while swimming. She actually has an elder sister she doesn't talk to that much anymore, not because they're on bad terms but they just never did talk much even when they were younger.
She is pretty adept at muggle baking and on occasion gives students and faculty members the goods she makes. She learned how to speak Hindi, English, and Russian none magically during the course of her childhood though is the most fluent in English due to using it the most. She left the care of her dead ex husband's company to her mother while she worked at Hogwarts, at least in the future she has a back up plan for money if things start to go south. She has a tattoo of a trident on her abdomen surrounded by tentacles.
